In our Third grade class, your child will be bringing home these items each night.
*Reader (They are required to read their story every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. (I do not require them to read on Wednesdays because of church services.)
*Daily folder,
*AR book on their independent reading level,
*Weekly Math Fact Sheet, Spelling, and Vocabulary will be in Daily Folder.
Please read over the story in the reader with your child each required night and ask them questions about what happens in the story. They will always have a test over the story in their reader each Friday, unless otherwise noted. Please go over the Math Facts with them each night to build fluency. If going over all of the Spelling words each night is difficult for your child, try breaking it down into five word increments and by Thursday you will have reviewed all the words. Students will be given a test over their spelling words on Friday. Students must read the story in their reader, work on Math Facts, and study their spelling words each night. This is their required homework. It should take no more than 25 minutes. Any assignments that they do not complete during class will be sent home for homework and should be returned the next day. Graded assignments will be sent home on Monday from the previous week. If a paper has a check mark on it, it was completed during class together and will not be taken for a grade.
